Children's Ministry at FBC
When God gave His greatest command in Deuteronomy 6:4-6, we were commanded to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and strength.
The very next thing God said was to teach this to our children. That is just one of many biblical examples showing how children’s ministry is priority to God. Therefore it is priority to us.
Since we have the high calling to teach our children, our ministries here at FBC are designed to take children deeper in the knowledge of God than merely giving them morals and Bible-stories. We want them to see God revealing Himself in the Scriptures so that they can encounter Christ and learn to truly know Him personally because they are not merely the church of tomorrow, they are a vital part of the church today!
On Sunday Morning ...The Gospel Project
To see this happen, on Sunday Mornings we offer a Sunday School children’s Bible Study in The Gospel Project, which teaches the kids God’s Word while putting each passage in context of the whole Bible.
Wednesday Night ... GAZE, GROW, and GO
Wednesday evenings we offer G3 Kids. G3 stands for 3 biblical principles that are essential for the church: GAZE, GROW, and GO.
GAZE- Psalm 27:4, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.” We are training children to gaze at the glory of God in worship that they might fulfill God’s purpose for them in worshipping Him.
GROW- 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” We are committed to helping children to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ through in age appropriate Bible study that sets each lesson within the grand narrative of the Bible, helping them to understand truth as the author intended and how that shapes them today.
- GO- Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Taking the worship of God to places where God is not yet being worshipped is at the heartbeat of everything we do at FBC. Our children’s ministry is no exception. We are committed to developing children into disciple-makers, training them to not only gaze and grow, but to teach others how to know Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.
SAFETY is IMPORTANT to US!
FBC we take the safety of our children very seriously. All classes that work with minors are required to be staffed at all times by a minimum of two adults. These adults are required to pass a criminal background check and sexual abuse awareness training courses. We have a professionally-led safety team on-site to ensure that FBC is a safe place for you and your children and to hold children’s ministry workers accountable to stick to our safety policies. Feel free to contact us for more information about safety policies or concerns
